ShinEtsu KBM-803 is 3-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane, a sulfur-containing silane coupling agent with trimethoxy hydrolyzable groups and mercapto functional groups. It can chemically bond between inorganic materials such as silica, clay, talc, glass, metal surfaces and organic polymers including rubber, silicone, epoxy and polyurethane. KBM-803 is especially suitable for rubber compounding, tire tread formulations, shoe materials, conveyor belts, rubber rollers and mineral-filled polymer systems. It helps improve filler dispersion, rubber-filler interfacial adhesion, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, resilience and overall dynamic mechanical properties.
