Wacker ELASTOSIL® RT 622 A/B is a high-performance addition-cure two-component room temperature vulcanizing (RTV-2) silicone rubber developed by Wacker Chemie AG. It is supplied as a two-part system (A component + B component with platinum catalyst) with a standard 1:1 mixing ratio by weight. After thorough mixing, it cures at room temperature into a flexible, low-hardness silicone elastomer without generating any volatile by-products during crosslinking. This material delivers outstanding mechanical properties including high tear strength, excellent elongation at break and ultra-low linear shrinkage. It also meets the strict requirements of EN 45545-2:2020 for railway industry fire protection, making it suitable for rolling stock applications. It is widely used as an all-round potting compound for electronic components, electrical coil slot exit potting, technical moldings and railway industry applications.
