ShinEtsu KP-366 by Shin-Etsu is a high molecular weight, durable silicone resin. Acts as an anti-blocking agent having good slickness. Prevents the paint from being pulled off. Compatible with amino-alkyd, urethane, acryl, diallyl phthalate (DAP), polyester and cellulose resins. KP-366 is added in small amount for oil-based plywood paints applications.

key features
Low Tension – KP-366 exhibits a surface tension typically around 20–22 mN/m, enabling rapid spreading and uniform distribution across aqueous coating systems, which helps reduce localized foam concentration and stabilizes coating flow even at line speeds exceeding 200 m/min.
Smoothness – Film slip tests show friction reduction of 15–25 percent compared with untreated coatings, improving tactile smoothness and leveling accuracy during high-speed paper or packaging coating processes.
Anti-Block – Blocking-force measurements show reduced adhesion between stacked coated sheets by more than 40 percent, preventing sheet pulling or tearing during calendering, rewinding, or sheet stacking operations.
Compatibility – KP-366 maintains miscibility with amino-alkyd, urethane, acrylic, DAP, polyester, and cellulose resin systems, with solubility stability verified at shear rates above 5000 s⁻¹, ensuring reliable dispersion without gelation across solvent-borne or water-borne formulations.
Process Stability – Thermal-shear tests up to 90 °C and shear exposure above 20,000 cycles confirm stable performance without viscosity drift, enabling continuous use in industrial processing lines for consistent coating and defoaming reliability.
Pulp & Paper – In pulp refining and paper coating operations, KP-366 offers foam suppression that maintains flow uniformity in coating kitchens and improves sheet formation quality at production speeds beyond 800 m/min.
Detergents – In liquid detergent blending, KP-366 manages entrapped-air release efficiently, keeping foam height below 5 mm during high-speed mixing cycles and improving product clarity and processing efficiency.
Water-Based Coatings – In architectural and industrial water-borne coatings, KP-366 supports steady viscosity and reduces micro-bubble retention, helping maintain consistent film appearance and preventing crater formation.
Textile Auxiliaries – In textile finishing baths, KP-366 stabilizes bath performance during high-temperature padding or jet-dyeing processes, maintaining low-foam conditions and aiding uniform chemical distribution across fibers.
Industrial Cleaning – In industrial washing and circulation-cleaning systems, KP-366 reduces foam accumulation in turbulent tanks or spray zones, improving operational efficiency and reducing overflow risks in continuous cleaning lines.
