Key features
Heat resistance – Silicone fluids have outstanding stability against thermal oxidation.
Cold resistance – Silicone fluids withstand low temperatures well. Methylphenyl silicone fluid, formulated for low temperature applications, maintains flowability even at -65°C.
Viscosity stability – There is little change in viscosity over a wide temperature range.
Chemical stability – Silicone fluids are almost totally chemically inactive. At room temperature, they show almost no effects from alkali solutions (up to 10%) or acidic solutions (up to 30%).
High Thermal Resistance – Withstands elevated temperatures without degradation, making it suitable for long-term exposure in heat-intensive environments.
Textile and Printing – Used as a fabric softener and surface modifier; improves hand feel, glide, and ink transfer control
Rubber and Elastomer Processing – Functions as a high-viscosity mold release and processing aid; enhances flow, reduces sticking, and improves demolding
Cosmetics and Personal Care – Acts as a thick emollient and conditioning agent in creams, ointments, and styling products; imparts a rich, cushiony feel and long-lasting lubrication
Automotive – Incorporated into polishes, protectants, and damping fluids; enhances gloss, surface durability, and vibration control
Electronics – Serves as a damping and dielectric fluid in sensitive components; provides insulation, motion control, and thermal stability
